As someone who has recently moved back to the Sunshine Coast after living elsewhere for the past 10+ years, I was interested in creating an experience where I could explore more of the Sunshine Coast and meet new people and having cool technology enable that! So I put together an Amazon Echo Alexa skill which allows a convenient way to get suggestions of places I have never heard of or meet new people.
This uses the Sunshine Coast Parks dataset to randomly generate parks that you can visit along with being able to create and share "meetup" style events with others in the community. You can use the chatbot to easily create an event to "Go surfing at Mooloolaba main beach" which would be exposed to others to come join you.
This could also be used by local Sunshine Coast businesses to run events offered to both locals and tourists and drive more traffic to their stores.
