VicRoads Multi-Mode Journey Planning
To maintain and enhance the quality of life for Melbournians, what solutions can you think of that will enable users to make informed decisions on their travel type and route every day? How can the solution allow for individual preferences, cost analysis, time considerations & supporting services?
Context:
There is a lack of 'multi-mode' traffic information available to ensure road network users can access journey planning and decision making information in Melbourne. Whilst there are many third party trip planners (eg: Google, HERE, PTV, Tramtracker, Bike Route etc ) which supply certain elements of related information, there is still an unfulfilled service demand for a more holistic solution that will assist network users to more effectively look at what options they have in relation to commuting and 'planning a journey'.
Problem Statement:
To maintain and enhance the quality of life for Melbournians, what solutions can you think of that will enable users to make informed decisions on their travel type and route every day? Additionally, how can the solution allow for individual preferences, cost analysis, time considerations & supporting services e.g. parking at railway stations or linking to public transport?
