Smart Vision Living = Better Living through Technology

You CAN have your cake and eat it too!  A highly sustainable, green, livable environment that is supported by smart, connected future focused growth that the whole city can participate in.  The project of the century that will propel Ipswich into the Digital Economy!

Smart Vision Living is basically a set of tools that allow people to live in their environment and co-govern their city or town through innovative initiatives.

The Problem

Ipswich's local government strives for these desired outcomes :

1)  The natural features of the domicile are not compromised, in fact they are preserved.

2)  The natural environment is respected and any effect on the natural environment is minimised or prevented.

3)  All business activities in rural, urban and township areas, and in all industries are undertaken to reflect the economic potential of the city or town

4)  Resources that are used minerals, water, agriculture are sustainable.

5)  The infrastructure is affordable and cost effective and it reflects the infrastructure of the growing community.

6) Throughout the region, housing and community service and facilities reflects community needs.

7)  Safe practice is followed on the installation and maintenance of water and sewer systems and there is appropriate treatment for effluent, recycled water and sewerage sludge.

8) The roads to Amberley Air Base and Archerfield Aerodrome are maximised and used properly.

9) The adverse effects from natural and other hazards including flooding, bush fires and aircraft operations are minimised.

10) Areas of cultural significance are conserved and protected.

11) Rural areas are conserved and protected from incompatible uses such as urban residential. (1)

Implementing these desired outcomes requires projection modelling that are the ideas, products and services from every living person in Ipswich.

Everyone has a voice and so we want Ipswich to govern to together with its citizens forever!

WE MUST OVERCOME THE PATTERNS OF URBAN DEVELOPMENT THAT IMPACT RESIDENTIAL AMENITY, FINANCIAL GROWTH AND HAVE ADVERSE EFFECTS ON CONSERVATION ESTATES.

The Solution(s) that are part of the Smart City initiative of Ipswich City are:

1) Saving energy by investing in the lasted lighting technology.  With sunny days that are practically 360 days a year, solar powered Council services are the most sustainable and economic viable.  Also, CCTV technology is also available that can be solar powered.  Protection for the citizens as well as reducing their tax output for council services.

2) The 5D Data modelling initiative is well on its way so that engineers and town planners can predict the infrastructure needed by seeing above and below the ground, feeding important data and requirements that are needed for rapid urbanisation.  Magikcraft is a technology that models a towns contours and geography providing a tangible interface for traditionally complex data.

3) Create a digital portal that citizens can govern their town and make decisions together with their local council and connecting communities and suburbs with council and with each other.  Each suburb will be divided into "News Stations".  Initially there will be four main areas that the citizen-centric solutions will focus on:

a. Reporting defects or fault in council property or operations.

b. Petition to Councils Online for easier communication between groups and local government.

c. Local Suburban News reporting police alerts, missing pets, weather and disaster information.

d. Helping Council to decide on ideas like a parade, or expenditures on festivals and the timing of road upgrades.
