A web based application designed to encourage users to get out and explore their local parks. Parks+ utilizes park and open space data to create a virtual interface that provides the user with challenges to complete in parks. The application also collects data about the users experience within the parks they visit.
Our aim is to create a fun application that will lead to healthier users that are more aware of their local surrounding whilst also collecting data to improve local facilities.
Below is an outline of all datasets and how we used it.
We've utilised the Brimbank, Ballarat, Wyndham and Golden Plains Playgrounds incorporate these landmarks in to our challenge system.
We've used park boundaries for Brimbank and off-leash areas for brimbank to outline the areas where parks begin, to isolate which landmarks live in which parks.
We've also used Ballarat BBQ and Victoria's Features of Interest to add more interesting landmarks to perform challenges against.
